1 – Overview
NVIDIA has launched today the GeForce GTX 1660. This new member of the GeForce GTX 16 family is the successor of the GeForce GTX 1060 and is based on the same GPU than the recently released GTX 1660 Ti. The TU116 GPU has 2 SMs in less resulting in 1408 shader cores (compared to the 1536 of the GTX 1660 Ti) but has slightly higher core clock speeds. Another difference is the graphics memory type: GDDR5 for the GTX 1660 against GDDR6 for the GTX 1660 Ti. And like the GTX 1660 Ti, this Turing-based graphics card has no real time ray tracing (RT cores) support.
The price of the GTX 1660 starts at USD $220.
