Seems AMD has forgotten to include Catalyst 10.8b hotfix in the new Catalyst 10.9. Then AMD has also published the Catalyst 10.9a hotfix for Radeon HD 4870 X2 and Radeon HD 4850 X2:
- ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 X2 and ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2 series of products use both Graphics Processing Units (GPU) for high performance
It’s not a matter of forgetting to implement it. If the new driver has left the pipeline, when the bug is fixed, it does not make it to the next driver release.
Rumor has it that they fixed the Underscan issue as well. A dude at AMD forums, reported that even Crysis is underscan free now.
I can’t wait to get home and test it myself. I will buy the guy that fixed it a beer the size of his height!:D
Fix confirmed by ATI official:
“This also has overscan fixes and updates for Popcap games (i.e. Plants vs Zombies).”

Hotfix has resolve the problem, but have new one:
second GPU doesn’t change it’s mode from 3D back to 2D! No surprises — this is ATI 🙂
