This GIGABYTE’s product is equiped with the Silent Cell technology, giving us a massive and passive cooler, nicely designed for barbecue…
Features of the GIGABYTE GeForce 9800 GT Silence Cell:
– GPU: G92b @ 600MHz / 55nm (there is an error in GPU-Z)
– Shader cores: 112 @ 1500MHz
– Memory: 1024Mb GDDR3 @ 900MHz
– 3D APIs: OpenGL 3 + Direct3D 10
– Lenght: 260 mm
– Height: 2 slots
Among all usual benchmarks, there is also a PhysX test with FluidMark:
That makes me thinking I should update this benchmark because it was compiled with the summer 2008 PhysX SDK… Will do it shortly!
FurMark test: GIGABYTE GeForce 9800 GT Silence Cell requires a well cooled case. In the following screenshot, we can see how the GPU temperature suddenly goes up when case’s fans are stopped:
When case is cooled, the GPU temperature does not exceed 65°C, but when the case is not cooled, the GPU temperature is very close to 100°C!!!
Maybe it’s nice for barbecue if you can find a way to reverse gravity, so that it can stick to the cooler 😉
My my my, 94 degrees?!
You can’t use this card for overclock if the case is not well cooled.
In-fact, you can burn your VGA !!
