Everything appears to work ok without that particular file. Should I wait on an update before using the application? Thanks again!

Except  Vulkan demos, right?
I will release a new Kombustor in the next days, but there's no warranty Vulkan demos will work with your RTX 30.

I was mainly concerned for the stress test to make sure my OC was stable. I wasn't sure if that file was a dependency, but it appears not to be so. I don't have experience with Vulcan demos or applications that use that programming interface.

Thanks for your kind assistance! Much appreciated!!

Just tried the new 4.1.9 Version of kombustor. Works great!! No need to alter the plugin file for Vulkan for the application to work. Thank you!!  :)

JeGX

Thank you for the feedback. There was probably a bug that has been fixed these last days/weeks with all changes I made in the Vulkan plugin. Cool!

I'm getting crashes again with 4.1.10. Same issue, but changing the vulkan plugin file name fixes the problem as before. Newest Nvidia driver 460.89.

It's really weird. I tested Kombustor 4.1.10 with a RTX 3060 Ti and it works fine (drivers: 460.89).
Could you do a clean re-install of your drivers?

Could you also test these apps that have a Vulkan module:
- GPU Caps Viewer ( https://www.geeks3d.com/20201202/gpu-caps-viewer-1-49-0-released/ )
- GPU-Z ( https://www.geeks3d.com/dl/show/10001 )
- GeeXLab ( https://www.geeks3d.com/dl/show/500 )

Or maybe it's a bad compilation of the Vulkan plugin...

JeGX

No, don't re-install your drivers. I have some strange behaviors with my RTX 3060 Ti (like the current power draw (TDP) that is not displayed). I think that as soon as I can, I will recompile the whole project.

Hopper64

Thanks. I know GPU Z works fine. I have that installed already. Appreciate your help.

The new version 4.1.11.0 works fine. No errors here at all. Thank you!!

Well, this is odd. It's been working fine with 4.1.11.0 and nvidia driver 461.40, then the app crashed again through MSI AB with the following error. I clicked the kombustor icon again and it came right up. ??

This may be related to riva tuner. Just saw this post about RTSS and Vulcan. Updated to the RTSS RC and seems to be working correctly.

Interesting info. I rarely use rivatuner / msi afterburner during my tests and benchmarks, that's why I didn't see this issue. Will try to launch afterburner more often in the future.

Hopper64

Yes. I didn't even consider a connection between the 2 until I see that post. I use MSI AB and RTSS to OC my card/monitor stats in game.
