LunarG releases new Windows, Linux, and macOS SDKs for Vulkan header 1.2.170
The VK_KHR_synchronization2 extension (https://www.khronos.org/registry/vulkan/specs/1.2-extensions/html/chap50.html#VK_KHR_synchronization2) brings extensive improvements to Vulkan queue submission, events, and pipeline barriers resulting in significant usability enhancements for developers. Overview of New Features in the 1.2.170.0 SDKSupport for the following new extensions
- VK_KHR_synchronization2
- VK_KHR_workgroup_memory_explicit_layout
- VK_KHR_zero_initialize_workgroup_memory
- VK_NV_acquire_winrt_display
- VK_VALVE_mutable_descriptor_type
- A new layer, called VK_LAYER_KHRONOS_synchronization2 has been included in this SDK. It is designed to be a transparent helper that provides an extension implementation if your device's driver doesn't have one yet.
