This PhysX testbed includes:
- Cryostasis tech-demo
- one GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 (graphics) and one GeForce 9600 GT (PhysX)
- one GeForce GTX 280 (graphics) and one GeForce 9600 GT (PhysX)
- two GeForce GTX 280 SLI (graphics) and one GeForce 9600 GT (PhysX)
- three GeForce GTX 280 3-Way SLI (graphics + PhysX)
In red: the GeForce 9600 GT is used for PhysX. In blue, the GeForce 9600 GT is not used.
The 3-Way SLI does not use the 9600GT for PhysX because there are not enough PCI-Exp slots to plug 4 graphics cards. It’s interesting to see that two GeForce GTX 280 SLI + GeForce 9600 GT are faster than a set of GeForce GTX 280 video cards in 3-way SLI.
Very interesting. I have two 280s in SLI, and am planning on putting in a 260 for physx. I think it should fare well where applicable.
