GPU Caps Viewer 1.33.0 Released (Updated: v1.33.1.0)

A new version of GPU Caps Viewer is available.

1 – Overview

GPU Caps Viewer 1.33.0 adds the support of some recent GPUs (NVIDIA GTX 1050 for notebook, Intel HD Graphics 630, and Radeon R7 M300 series) and fixes a crash in Vulkan demos (the Vulkan plugin of GeeXLab) with recent NVIDIA and AMD graphics drivers.

In the Vulkan API panel, a [VK-Z output] button has been added to display the full report of VK-Z:

I added this option because on some systems (like the ASUS GL553VD with a GTX 1050 + HD Graphics 630 where I installed the first Vulkan driver for Intel GPUs), GPU Caps Viewer is not able to see all Vulkan-capable GPUs. On the same systems, VK-Z is able to see all Vulkan devices. The Vulkan code to enumerate Vulkan GPUs is the same in GPU Caps Viewer and in VK-Z. But in GPU Caps Viewer, something prevents the correct enumeration.

All Vulkan code has been recompiled with latest Vulkan headers (v1.0.42).

Update (2017.03.06): GPU Caps Viewer 1.33.1.0 fixes a bug in the Vulkan initialization code that could produce a crash on some configurations with no Vulkan support.

3 – What is GPU Caps Viewer?

GPU Caps Viewer is a graphics card information utility focused on the OpenGL, Vulkan, OpenCL and CUDA API level support of the main (primary) graphics card. For Vulkan, OpenCL and CUDA, GPU Caps Viewer details the API support of each capable device available in the system. GPU Caps Viewer offers also a simple GPU monitoring facility (clock speed, temperature, GPU usage, fan speed) for NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon based graphics cards. GPU data can be submitted to an online GPU database.

    Version 1.33 crashes!!!!!!!
I can’t even open GPU caps viewer, it crashes immediately.
    Version 1.32.0.1 worked fine.
The error is caused by vulkan-1dll.
My system is an AMD fx8320E, with 12GB RAM and a Geforce GT630 (gf108), with 1 GB VRAM.
    Win7 x64.

    please fix it!

        will do, thanks!

strangely enough, it worked on the same machine under win81 x64…

PS: v1.33.1 works! thanks a lot!

Wait, v1.33.1 works on win7 (v1.33 didn’t), but it shows an error on win81 (where v1.33 worked just fine).
A window pops up sayign that “vulkan-1.dll was not designed to work on windows or it contains an error”
After some more bla bla, Error 0xc000012f. After closing that window twice, the program does open, though.
