UPDATE 3: the preview of Cat 11.10 is now available at AMD: AMD Catalyst 11.10 Hotfix for Windows 7 32-bit / 64-bit Edition (147MB).
UPDATE 2: download ok (more than one hour!). Here is the software information of Cat 11.10 from the CCC:
There’s no new OpenGL extension (still 219 like Cat 11.7).
UPDATE 1: the fully package (147MB) is hosted at megaupload. But it’s really slow…
Like NVIDIA, AMD has pushed online a driver optimized for Battlefield 3 (should be released at the end of October). But unlike NVIDIA, this preview of Catalyst 11.10 has few minor problems (at the time of writing: 2011.09.27, 5:50am!): 😀
At the same time, the driver installer is a 24MB file only. That could explain the file corruption. I guess AMD has forgot the biggest part of the driver somewhere, the driver team is certainly too busy with the test of BF3!
I will update the post as soon as AMD puts online a fully working driver.
Anyway, here are the new things brought by this preview of preview 😀
- Improves performance in Battlefield 3 Open Beta release for both non-Anti-Aliasing, and application enabled Anti-Aliasing cases on the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series for single GPU configurations
- Improves performance in Battlefield 3 Open Beta release for both non-Anti-Aliasing, and application enabled Anti-Aliasing cases on CrossFire configurations using the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series
- Enables support for Eyefinity 5×1 display (portrait and landscape) configurations using the AMD Radeon™ HD 6000 and AMD Radeon™ HD 5000 Series
- Vision Engine Control Center: User Interface enhancements have been implemented for the CrossfireX, GPU Overdrive, and Information Center pages.
