Anyone know how lOng ur supposed to run the burn in test?

So when I run the test my screen goes black then the monitor tells me it is not receiving input. The first time I tried this happened in three minutes and the temp reached 81 C. Tried it again and it happened within 20 seconds with temp at 60 something. My card is an Nvidia GTS 250, Ive had it for a couple of years without problems until now, any ideas on what might be the problem?

Hi,
my Acer Predator 5910 with Nvidia 560 TI shoting down after 1 Minute test with Full features enabled. The Nvidia have Crashed by 84° Celsius. But the Fun have 54% speed.

It is to much? Or ist the Predator broken?

And when i move the Mouse on the whithe backgrount they have a Powerfull whithe Shadow. (every black elements make this effect)

But the PC was buy directly from Acer. It ist Refurbished.

Thank you GEEKS3D team for making this great free software. Thanks to your efforts, I have discovered that my PSU 420W is a FAKE, just a 220W old atx with another label. I have set a favorable and secure enviroment (i.e. finger on power all the time) and imediatly after the begining of the test my computer stop making cooler noise and begin to smell molten plastic. If I had started gaming right away insted of testing, I dont wanna thik about it, is too painful. So anyway, Thanks again, Good job, whish to all much success. Has we say around here, BIG HUGH

I my motherboard recently died so I had to rush to buy some new bits as I needed them instantly. When I run skyrim my computer now crashes. I thought of using furmark to ensure my GPU was OK. I can run it in fullscreen, out of fullscreen and even a benchmark with no presets. When I run a benchmark with presets my screen goes blank and I have to hard reset as my comp doesn’t do anything. I have done a GPU memory test and thats clean. What does the preset benchmark do that the normal one doesn’t? Is there possibly a setting in my GPU causing an error?

I have an ati HD 4870 GPU, an amd FX-6100 CPU and an ASRock 970 extreme 3 motherboard with 8GB corsair RAM. I’m scratching my head trying to figure out whats wrong. First I thought the GPU was maybe dying but I can run furmark without presets for over an hour fine. With presets my screen immediately goes black (when its loading?) and I have to do a hard reset.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Furmark was recommended to me by Sager Support whom I contacted after BF3 kept shutting down my computer after 20 minutes of play. I have a GTX 285M card with a duo core i7 and 4G of RAM.

After running Furmark twice, my laptop shut down after 17 minutes and 15 minutes, respectively.

What does this mean? Also, does Furmark keep a log that allows me to go back and check the temps at shutdown?

@jyim34: the support is here or in other graphics cards forums over the Net. What is the GPU temperature of your graphics card? Maybe you have a cooling problem, check the VGA cooler.

I ran Furmark as well, and in the first 5 seconds, my screen has blue squigly lines, and it freezes. Is there a support section in furmark that tells me what this means?

@ dave bad cooling. upgrade thermal paste or heatsink and fans.

my hd3850 runs stable at 12 hours of furmark 1440p res, 2x mssa. temps wong go higher than 86 C

custom paste makes BIG difference! i reccommend AS 5 or ZALMAN stg1 or Coolaboratory Liquid Pro (Lpro is the best of all but very rare)

BUT if yu no want spend money, just add an extra fan on top of ur gpu. should get 4 degrees off! in celsius

furmark 1.9.1 sucks. It has no stability test option.

The burn-in option ends quickly, it’s probably controlled by the benchmark length setting.

FurMark 1.9.1 sometimes gives me a lower average fps than minimum fps.

Got a system with Intel C2Q Q6600, 4GB RAM and a Geforce GTX 460 1GB and I’m getting 20 min fps, 19 avg fps and 21 max fps. I’m running the 1080 benchmark preset. This doesn’t make sense and makes FurMark benchmark results useless.

Please look into. Thanks.

I’m afraid the GPU-Z trick doesn’t work anymore.

On my GTX 580, furmark gave 21 FPS with OCP and 42 with ocp disabled, but after less than a minute it reverted to 21 fps even “disabling’ ocp.

My card is an EVGA GTX 580 with the latest bios (and modded for max voltages and fan speed)

New to ocing, just wondering, I increased the gpu frequency from 810mhz (stock) to 900, ran the test, got to 70c then the screen when all orange and I couldn’t exit it, so I restarted computer and everything is fine. Just wondering what happened there?

@Dave: FurMark 1.9.x is a bit harder with the GPU and the crash means your OC setting is a bit too high. Either downclock the GPU core clock or increase the GPU voltage to get a stable OC.

My MSI GTX 560 Ti (Twin Frozr II, factory overclocked), is stable under Furmark 1.8.5, Unigine 2.5 and MSI Kombustor 2.0.1, but crashes after a few minutes with Furmark 1.9.1.

Is there anything I can infer from this?
