S3 Graphics has unveiled some days ago the new Chrome 530 GT, a graphics card that is capable to hardware accelerate Direct3D 10.1 and OpenGL 2.1/3.0 applications. Now, S3 Graphics publishes the first graphics driver (in BETA version) for its new Chrome 500 series with OpenGL 3.0 support.
S3 Graphics has joined NVIDIA (and ATI…) in the circle of OpenGL 3.0 graphics card makers. That’s cool to see S3 Graphics’s will to support OpenGL. I hope good luck to the driver development team because an OpenGL driver that supports OpenGL 2.1 and OpenGL 3.0 is a tremendous task!
That would be great if Chrome 500 series graphics driver had a name. NVIDIA has ForceWare, ATI has Catalyst and S3 Graphics has … Chrome 500 series graphics driver. Not fun!
